Starting Your Weight Loss Journey: The 3 Cs to Follow

If you’re just starting (or restarting) your weight loss journey, chances are, what you’re doing now isn’t working in getting to where you want to be with your goals. Hence, the need to revamp your lifestyle and start implementing changes. But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you have to turn your life upside down in order to see success. Here’s our top 3 C’s for starting your weight loss journey.

Misconception: You have to implement drastic changes in order to successfully lose weight.

Truth: Successful weight loss is the combination of small sustainable changes that you can carry on to weight loss maintenance.

Create a realistic nutrition and fitness plan that you can commit to. While some diets that promise quick and drastic results sound tempting, they aren’t set up for lasting results. Finding your nutrition plan can be fun, honestly! Consult with your doctor, research online, and check out what fellow weight loss challengers are doing to get healthy and lose weight. While what works for them, may not work for you; it’s always beneficial in seeing what others are doing to help you when navigating your own weight loss journey.

Commit to your nutrition and fitness plan. Ask yourself: is this something that is realistic to my lifestyle that I can practice daily? Is this something I can see myself doing for longer than 3 months or will it leave me burned out? Weight loss is not a one-size-fits-all, so finding what works for you and gives you results is important when deciding your nutrition and fitness plans.

Be consistent with your nutrition and fitness plan. You didn’t gain the weight overnight and you definitely won’t lose it overnight either. Whether you’re not seeing large results immediately or you have a day where you just want to throw in the towel, remember that consistency is key when it comes to weight loss success. Success is the combination of your commitment to being consistent with your new healthy habits and will take longer than 21 days.

The more you practice these three c’s, the more likely you’ll gain control of your food intake, your motivation to be active, and become stronger than your past weight loss struggles.
